About Cullipher Farm Apple Orchard in Virginia Beach

772 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23457

Cullipher Farm apple orchard in Virginia Beach has roots that extend back over 200 years since the namesake family began to farm in North Carolina and Tidewater. Originally, the farm grew cash crops such as tobacco and cotton. As times changed, so did their fields. Tobacco turned to sustenance crops, and the family spent the winters fishing and hunting. Their future generations would honor this as they began to create their own farms. Today, you can still find menus stocked with the produce and the seafood and meat the older Culliphers would eat, but now, the foods are grown with more sustainable practices. They utilize Integrated Pest Management and avoid GMOs. They also partner with the USDA to use clean soil and water conservation.

All The Fall Fun At the Apple Orchard In Virginia Beach

While fall tends to be the favorite season here, this farm is open from spring until the beginning of winter. They offer pick-your-own crops that let you take your family and select the best produce you can find. During the beginning of the summer, you can find strawberries and blueberries, followed by peaches and nectarines. Once fall starts to arrive, apples become the favored crop. Cullipher Farm has over 8,000 trees across the land and uses a spindle system that ensures you don’t have to climb on ladders to get to the top. Their varieties include Firecracker, Summerset, Sweet Maia, and Spitzenberg. They also have sunflower fields as well as over 25 varieties of pumpkins that you can find across 15-17 acres.
