I am a Navy wife and full-time mama to two amazing little girls! I currently live in Moyock, North Carolina, but travel to Norfolk Naval, and the surrounding installations, for homecomings.
As a military spouse myself, I know how special homecoming is! You've been apart from your loved one for months, often more than originally anticipated. You are anxious to see them, and even more anxious to remember this special moment. Homecomings are my absolute favorite events to be part of!
My clients will tell you that my calm patience and inviting demeanor made their homecoming session a stress-free and enjoyable experience! My background as a spouse myself means that I know what to expect...and to expect the unexpected!

The Experience

Communication
As a former teacher, I understand how important clear, timely communication is. From initial inquiry on-wards, I am committed to making sure you feel heard and know I'm here to answer all your questions. You can expect to hear from me within 24 hours.

Session Wardrobe
I know how stressful it can be choosing outfits for your session-especially when you have to be prepared for any weather! I will walk you through the entire planning process. We will discuss color palette and I will send you a customized mood board (complete with links to purchase) based on your vision.

Enjoyable session
On the day of your session, I don't want you to worry about a thing! I will be there before your event, and stay with you until after so I can capture every special moment. You just enjoy your loved one-let me do the work of getting you images you will cherish!
We all know that every homecoming is unique, and wholly dependent o the command. However, there are a few general things that are similar about each type. When you book, you should know what type of homecoming you are having. This way I can make sure we are both fully prepared for what to expect on the day!
1. Choose Your Homecoming Type (details below)
A $150 retainer officially reserves your time on my calendar. The retainer not only reserves your date, but gives you priority on my schedule, covers my raw costs and the time I put into prepping your session, the session itself, and editing your photographs. Your retainer will be applied to your collection selection.
2. Book Your Session
The next step is the homecoming itself. All you have to do is make sure I know where to meet you. I'll be there to capture all your details. You won't have to worry about a thing! Just find your sailor and welcome them home with open arms.
3. Your Session
After your session, you will receive a sneak peek within 24 hours. In about 2 weeks, you will receive your full gallery (min. 40 images). Your digital and print credit will already be loaded into this gallery. All you have to do is choose the prints you love. It's that easy!
Of course, I will be right here for you if you need assistance or have any questions.
4. Recieve your photos and Use your artwork credit

We did a family wildflower mini session and it was sooooo hot and humid that day. My hair was literally a disaster when I stepped out of the car. Justine was able to edit my hair and make it look much better and we got some super cute photos of the kids too!

Booked a quick mini session with Justine off recommendations and needless today she’ll be photographing our family for a long time! I took my first digital photography course waaaaay back in high school. After graduation, I took a less artistic path with my life and went into teaching. But art is in my blood, and photography is my passion. After my 2nd daughter was born, I decided not to return to the classroom. I reached out in my community to see if anyone would be interested in a session. I had so much fun working with families this way that I knew I had found my true calling!
The complimentary artwork credit is easily applied to your choice of artwork, available directly through your gallery! Once you receive your gallery, you will find your print AND digital credits listed at the top, near your cart. Simply add whatever you would like to your cart and the credits will be applied at checkout!
The digital credit will allow you to access the number of digitals included with your collection. The complimentary credit acts as a gift certificate. For example, if you have a $400 complimentary credit and want to purchase $1000 of physical artwork, your total will be only $600! If you have any more questions about this, I am always here to help.
Not at all! That's why it's complimentary. I love these products so much, that I wanted to make sure all of my clients get the chance to order some art and fall in love with them as well. You will immediately see the difference in quality between my professional print lab and the major box store printers. These are truly heirloom pieces, meant to be displayed proudly in your home. At this time, your art credit is non-transferrable and must be used to purchase physical products from the gallery it is associated with.
Of course! Each digital image in your collection comes with a lifetime print release and is yours to take to your favorite print shop. However, each collection also comes with a generous art credit for you to use with my contracted professional print lab. The materials used at my print lab are the highest quality you will find. I do not guarantee image print quality when any outside printers are used.
I do! I understand that homecoming photos are a luxury, but I truly believe that everyone deserves to have gorgeous photos and high quality artwork for their home. I know that sometimes budgets can be tight. I am happy to work with you to come up with a payment plan that will allow you to access your family photos in whatever way is easiest for you! Additionally, my booking software accepts Klarna and Afterpay.
Homecomings, especially for the larger ships, tend to book up quick! I recommend reaching out soon after, or even before, your sailor leaves. Because of OPSEC, you won't be able to give me a specific date, but I can get you on my calendar with an "ish" date.
The weather here can be crazy! Knowing this, I always keep a close eye on the weather before a session. If it looks like poor weather is coming, I will reach out to you a few days in advance to make sure we have gone over everything. But rest assured, you have booked me for your day. I will have ways to protect my equipment to make sure I can still capture your special moment.
