Virginia Aquarium

Virginia Aquarium in Virginia Beach is a place where families can experience one of the best aquariums in the country, with an array of incredible exhibits and amazing animals representing hundreds of species. This aquarium houses thousands of animals from all over the world, from the depths of the ocean to the rivers of the rainforest. Kids will delight in getting up close and personal with their favorite animals with the aquarium’s many interactive exhibits.

The Sweet Spot is Virginia Beach’s best dessert shop and ice cream store. Don’t let rainy days dampen your mood – take the kids and enjoy all of the best milkshakes, funnel cakes, churros, and much more at this vibrant store. This store offers the best, tastiest desserts, with 38 flavors of ice cream, including vegan and sugar-free options. The store also sells handmade milkshakes, freshly made bubble waffles, nondairy fruit smoothies, and smooth Italian coffees for the parents.

Little Theatre of Virginia Beach

The Little Theatre of Virginia Beach is a great place to spend a rainy day with kids. Just blocks from the oceanfront, LTVB is an all-volunteer organization that brings live theater to the local community. Their mission is to educate and provide live theater experiences at affordable prices. This theater is funded by the people of Virginia Beach and grants from the city. This is a great place to see amazing shows at affordable rates. 

The Mermaid Factory

510 Laskin Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23451

The Mermaid Factory is a fun place where kids can paint, party, shop, and enjoy a rainy day with indoor fun. This is a unique gift shop and paint-your-own art studio in Virginia Beach. All plaster products are handmade in Coastal Virginia and are the perfect blank canvas to showcase your child’s creativity. This studio offers acrylic paint, glitter, and embellishments so kids can make a wonderful creation and take it home on the same day! Kids can paint mermaids, dolphins, starfish, and shells, as well as seasonal items. If you don’t want to paint in the store, families can buy painting kits to do at home!
