Military Aviation Museum
For kids interested in airplanes, the aviation museum is a must see! They are home to a very large collection of vintage airplanes and have both stationary displays and, on occasion, aerial displays. Santa has even been known to do a fly-in around the holidays. As a bonus, there is a dinosaur statue park on the grounds. The statues are life size and made of metal. This is great fun for any kiddo who loves dinosaurs!

As you may expect by its name, Mt. Trashmore is an example of reuse of a landfill. Its man-made hills were made by compacting together layers of clean soil with solid waste. But don’t worry! You would never be able to tell if you didn’t know. The park is home to an excellent playground, with a rubber surface, that has areas for children of all ages.
Ocean Breeze Waterpark
Located conveniently in Virginia Beach, Ocean Breeze is a great summer activity for kids. This is a great place to visit if you are interested in the history of Virginia. This lighthouse was one of the first projects of the newly founded United States and was in use for 100 years!
