All the Rage: Hampton Roads Number One Prom Dress Shop

A high school senior stands by a lake at sunset. The glowing sky shows off the just turning fall leaves. She wears a red dress that could be found at All the Rage.

With prom season soon upon us, finding the perfect dress is going to be on the forefront of your mind. Prom is a once in a lifetime experience and likely to be one of the events that stands out the most in your memories from high school. I remember my own prom dress shopping experience with clarity, and a touch of horror. The small shop I went to didn’t have the dress of my dreams so I ordered from their catalog…never again! Don’t be like me. Make sure you have tried on your dress, and are in love. And if you are wondering where in Hampton Roads to start your search, look no further than All the Rage, located in Virginia Beach.

About All the Rage

All the Rage is the best prom shop in the area. If you are looking for an exclusive experience, this is the store for you. They carry hundreds of dresses in store and offer a list of preferred tailors for alterations, making sure the dress fits you to a t. Here is what impresses me most about All the Rage

  • Exclusivity: All the Rage takes the time to learn their clients and what events they are attending. Although not guaranteed to be 100% accurate due to the nature of online shopping, the consultants try to let you know if a dress you are eyeing has been purchased by someone else at your school. This makes it so much easier for you to find the perfect dress, while also showing off your own unique style!
  • Size Inclusivity: The store has options for girls who wear size 00 all the way up to 24. They will take your measurements, ensuring the perfect fit. And if your size is not available, you can special order using your measurements and therefore ensuring the perfect fit (a far cry from my own experience)!
  • Tux Rentals: All the Rage even offers tux rentals, making it easy for you and your date to show up to prom ready to show off!
  • Trends: The team at All the Rage stays on top of the trends in formal wear. You can follow them on Instagram and TikTok, getting a quick view of what their trending styles are before you even set foot in the store!

The Ambassador Program

Perhaps one of the most unique (and fun) things about this store is its Ambassador program. All the Rage collects applications from juniors and seniors each summer. They look for outgoing and enthusiastic teens to represent their store. I’ve had the pleasure of doing the senior portraits for one of their ambassadors and spoke to her about her experience. Here’s what she said she got to experience as an All the Rage gown ambassador:

  • Instagram takeovers: ambassadors go into the store once a month and show off some of their favorite dresses. These are use for the All the Rage socials.
  • Photoshoots: ambassadors are taught how to model and get to choose three dates to model for the store. Their hair and makeup is done and they get to wear an amazing gown available at the store.
  • Prom Dress Voucher: all ambassadors receive a voucher that they can use towards the purchase of their own prom dress

If being an ambassador is something of interest be sure to follow along on their socials. Sometime during the summer they will announce that their applications are open. You won’t want to miss out!
